Top UI Inspiration Websites
Before I start building anything, I usually spend some time looking at how others have solved similar problems. It's not about copying - it's about understanding patterns that work.
"What a good artist understands is that nothing comes from nowhere. All creative work builds on what came before." ― Austin Kleon
Here are the sites I keep coming back to.
Dribbble
Still the go-to for visual design inspiration. The search is great for finding specific UI patterns - just search for something like "dashboard analytics" or "mobile onboarding" and you'll find hundreds of examples.
The quality varies, but filter by "Popular" and you'll find genuinely useful stuff. I also follow designers whose work I like so their shots show up in my feed.
Mobbin
This is probably the one I use most these days. It's a massive library of real screenshots from actual apps - not concepts, but production interfaces.
You can browse by screen type (settings, checkout, profile, etc.) or by user flow. Super helpful when you're thinking about how to structure a feature. I've spent hours just browsing through how different apps handle things like onboarding or empty states.
Figma Community
If you use Figma, the community section is a goldmine. You can find complete design systems, icon sets, and templates - all free to duplicate into your own projects.
It's particularly useful for seeing how experienced designers structure their files. I've learned a lot about component organisation just by poking around in other people's design systems.
Godly
Curated website designs. Everything on here is high quality - they're selective about what gets featured. Good for landing pages and marketing sites especially.
I often come here when I need inspiration for a hero section or a features grid.
Refero
Similar to Mobbin but focuses on web rather than mobile. Great for exploring how SaaS products structure their dashboards, pricing pages, and feature overviews.
Awwwards
The sites featured here tend to be more experimental and creative. Useful when you want to push boundaries or need ideas for animations and interactions.
Be warned though - some of this stuff is style over substance. Not everything here translates well to a product that needs to be usable.
UI Patterns
This one's different - it's less about visual inspiration and more about UX patterns. When should you use a modal vs a new page? What's the best way to handle inline editing?
Each pattern comes with explanations of when to use it and when not to. Really valuable when you're making decisions about interactions.
How I Use These
I don't just browse aimlessly (well, sometimes I do). Usually I'm looking for something specific:
- Starting a new feature: I'll search Mobbin to see how other apps handle it
- Designing a marketing page: Godly and Awwwards for creative layouts
- Building a component: Figma Community for well-structured examples
- Making a UX decision: UI Patterns for guidance on the right approach
It's worth building your own collection too. I have a folder of screenshots organised by type - buttons, modals, navigation, forms, etc. Handy to have reference material you know you like.
